The Ministry of Mercantile Marine, The Aegean and Island Policy recently granted permission for the operation of waterways for seaplane flights in Magnesia.
Waterways are to open at the ports of Volos, Skiathos and Skopelos (Glossa harbor), which are not included in the Natura areas. The request for the port of Alonissos is to be considered separately due to the national marine park of the island.
The Mexican-American company Argo Ways has announced that it is ready to begin the Volos-Piraeus seaplane itinerary, each of which can carry 21 passengers.
The time distance from the port of Volos to the Flisvos marina is 40 minutes and the ticket is estimated to cost 50 euros.
The company also has plans to launch two daily seaplane connections from Volos to Piraeus, while the extension of the Volos-Thessaloniki route and the itineraries of Volos to the islands of the Northern Sporades are also under consideration.
